An electronic tuner is a good thing to have. When tuning by ear, it's easy to over-tension the strings because of the natural tendency to tune UP... thus putting extra stress on the guitar. Plus, after using an electronic tuner, you know you're in tune with ANY other musician on the planet, and you're ready for any impromptu jam sessions that might occur. Have fun, Lefty!

Oddly, I found my electric tuner to be inaccurate. The one in my amp and my current acoustic are good, though.

    Cheers, Lefty! Happy jamming!

It does depend on the tuner. I think some electric tuners may be inaccurate. I bought mine for fairly cheap, but it does the job. Now I need a good amp. The amp I have dosen't work so well. Playing an electric guitar acousticlly is possible, but it can be hard to hear the thick strings. Plus you don't have distortion without a amp. I was playing a F# chord on my friend's amp and it sounded awesome with distortion.

I'd suggest a Roland Cube or Micro Cube, depending on what you want. They are SWEET AMPS! The Cube 30X is really really good. The acoustic mode is nice, just drop the drive. And it has such a wide variety of amps. Although you might want to get a delay pedal, as the delay and reverb is soft. Still a solid modeling amp!

    Cool! Me too!

Many times, I'm unable to find accurate sheet music/guitar tab tho... then I try working it out by ear. I had started an album of VG covers done with guitars, bass and drums, but it got shelved due to other commitments.

They don't have very many themes, though. But It's very organized.

@Bennieboi - You might want to give Yamaha 'boards a look. They're good quality, and cost marginally less than Roland stuff. Of course, the kind of workstation needed for techno/electro/hardcore is always on the high $$$ side, sadly.

@rok124 - Nice to meet you. Thanks for posting!

    Howdy chums.

I'm a guitarist (But who the hell isn't?), and right now I play a Ltd/ESP DV8r (Old Dave Mustaine signature model, but the Korean-made version) through a Pod XT Live (which then goes to a Crate Power Brick, which I forgot the wattage of, into a cheap 2x2 cab).

I also recently got my bass back which I had lent to various friends for the past like 3 years. It's a cheap Specter Performer 4-string with some serious intonation problems that I spent part of the day today fixing.

And yeah, that's it. I played Clarinet in middle/high school, but remember like nothing about how to play it. I can't sing well but I pretend I can sometimes.

    That is all
