Exclamation Nintendo 3DS Already Hacked. One Confirmed Flashcart Works

Yesterday, there were reports that none of the flashcarts for the DSi works on the Nintendo 3DS. Today, one flashcart is to be confirmed working and it’s the R4!

The video below which seems to show the R4 chip working on a 3DS, recently went live on a Chinese site named youku.com.

With a lot of piracy issues coming to the forefront of gaming, and the fact the Nintendo 3DS isn’t even released outside Japan, show that all consoles are at risk from the pirates?

Or will Nintendo manage to clamp down and manage to stop this? We’ll keep you up-to-date on the situation.
eh~, they might have shown their hand too early. if i was a hacker, i'd wait until the 3DS has been released world wide. Nintendo can easily fix this with an update. they can pull a "you need to update in order to use the shop channel or the internet" and with no ways of getting around this yet, most people will have to update if they want to use the internet or shop. even more so, since i heard the JPN 3DSs don't even have the internet browser yet.

on the plus side its cool?... they got DS games working, i just wonder about 3DS games. i will just play DS games on my DS. thats what i did with my GBA games. it was nice to be able to play them, but i rarely did on my DS.

Interesting. I never used the Nintendo store on my DSi so if it's as pointless on the 3DS then it won't be a problem.

    Exclamation Awesome =D but...

Awesome i have an R4 and my DS Lite's L and R Buttons don't work to well ='/ (having a hard time pwning on Metroid Prime: Hunters without shooting) so i'm glad i can play all my games on a new 3DS without getting a new Flashcart. But.... If I'm not mistaken, the R4 II is what was used in the video, and i have the original R4 will that work? =o

P.S in the town where I'm taking schooling they're selling 3DS' at the game store there -.O

This is pretty interesting. It's weird that nintendo used similar software that the old ds used. They should've waited untill the 3ds saw an international release. Now, Nintendo is going to use some sort of antipiracy chip in in future versions of the 3ds, kinda what sony did with the psp. It's just a game of cat and mouse between hacker and company, but I'm suprised they managed to use a working flashcard already!

Well, I updated mine when I first got it, mostly because I had to get my Acekard 2i to work.

Speaking of the Acekard, I wonder if that works on the 3DS.

I'm wondering the same thing, since this might help sway me in whether I get a 3DS anytime soon or not.
