DS emulation problem windows 7

Having trouble getting any of the ds emulators to work for windows 7.
NOGBA wont recognize the ds games as ds games, and desmume 9.7 doesnt have a findable start button

Make sure the file extension for DS games is .nds, if the file is in zip or rar, make sure to extract the content first before it can be recognized and run on No$gba.

For DeSmuMe, which Start button? the emulator?

There is a new version of DesmuMe that came out this month. New version is not in the downloads section here at EP, that should get updated.

Works fine for me on win7 64bit, as nova said make sure the games are unzipped and have a .nds extention.

If you are still having problems try another ROM.

Edit - Nvm you tried 9.7

What do you mean by findable start button? in the top left click on File > Open rom then find your .nds rom and open it.

okay, I got 2 games to open, but they both immediatly say that save file cannot be found, when I open up errors, the system says that the game has a bunch of bugs and that I need unbugged versions. Does anyone have an unbugged ff3, or an unbugged fftA2 grimiore of the rift downloadable as a zip file, I cant open 7z or rar, and my computer wont let me install new programs.

edit edit: I am also looking for a pokemon heartgold or soul silver of the same file type, and yes I do know about having to extract the .nds file
