He should be cast out as a heathen. surely he has no business on emuparadise with this opinion.

Why exactly are you here mancannon?

Also, intros on cracked agiga games were epic! you still get little glimpses of it in keygens and the like. and the amiga demo scene in general back then.

Look up LSD's Jesus on E's. An epic 20 minute demo, with bonus samples of Sir rolf harris. Mervelous!

They's not entirely wrong, though. Quality control has drastically increased since the past, and games have gotten far more complex. Certainly, I don't need to play "guess the verb" now that text parsers don't really exist anymore, or uninstallers that wipe the entire hard drive, or (usually) bad level design allowing the player to get trapped in walls, fall through floors, forgetting retrieved items on save/reload, and so forth. Nowadays, when a game developer tries to push a game with so many bugs to release regardless, they will get eviscerated for it, and the Internet only helps in that.

    This I agree with.

But ManCannon is still pretty obviously a troll.

Unless he really is that ignorant.

In either case, I've no time to waste on him.

I miss the old days where there wasn't any DLC, when a game was released, and that was it. They made a part 2 a few years down the road, and you bought that, and enjoyed them. I feel like all games today are rushed, pumped out for profit, and the fun factor is lost. They try to make up for it with these stupid updates which just blows the price of the game even higher. Then they wonder why there is piracy... bloody hell, its not like I buy one shoe and go back a few months later to buy another.

My store still gives out free cookies. To little kids.

Gotta agree with Cookie, though. I miss the days when people weren't so picky. I also miss the days when secrets and whatnot were passed around via word of mouth, from a friend of a friend of a friend, instead of everything being discovered on the Internet the very next day. When I first learned the Konami Code, I thought I had earned nirvana. I traded food for that shit, man!

Seriously, I did. Can't remember what it was, all I remember was it was a dessert. And a kid in my class said that he knew a great code for some of my games, and he would tell it to me if I gave him my dessert. So I figured "fuck it, let's hear it!"

I miss the fact how games were actually creative, imaginative and original. I also miss how they were fun to play no matter what the graphics were like -.-
The time-line between NES and N64 are where i believe the best games were invented =P

I want to relive the old days when i knew every SMB3 secret by heart 8] (thanks to all my cousins and friends who beat the game several times) and would play Goldeneye OO7 slappers only constantly with my friends. Now everyone is in to some of the new games and systems (which i don't have) and constantly criticizing on the graphics and ratings they hear about games =/

I really think everyone is into older games because they were the originals and never will a game be same.

    Amen Brother.

You can see the industry is taking notice too, what with all the retro games collections, remakes, and reimaginings of old games that are abundant these days.

Two of my favorite games of this generation are Super street fighter 2 HD remix, And Pacman CE. Both great games, And both originally, very old.

(just as an aside, i keep seeing people speedtest.net sigs. Is the internet really that slow in america?)

yep i hear ya, games dont make you think like they used to, difficulty is all about how much the ai can rip you off before you've just had enough. remember the hard settin on monkey island 2? now that was a difference in difficulty

    also how brilliant was toonstruck??

What i also find funny is, a lot of the new sequels and prequels of older games are in the range of "popular" amongst most =P

Idk o.o internet seems pretty fast to me =P i guess it's because I have had the same provider and internet plan for so many years I guess I haven't decided to change anything XD and another factor is that my wireless connection is horrible =/ my wireless card on my computer has so many errors -.-
