Maybe I missed the videos covering different classes of SD cards, but the lag could also be a bottleneck at the lan adapter side.
A faster method is via the Serial port still but through USB B to PC USB A not seen any dev for running iso's though but the speed is alot faster

You're right, even this offers no boot disk for game images, only for other code.

Also, why is the logo blue in this and the videos? Mine is orange, so these must be other regions.

You can download the latest version of Dreamshell software for booting iso images directly from the SD card

Dreamshell News click on the latest version link for english info, the site is mostly russian though

Dreamshell 4.0.0 beta 4 English is lower down so just scroll down a bit

Another update DreamShell 4.0 to Beta 4.
Much of what was meant to realize no time, I decided to post as it is, otherwise it can go on forever
Yet there's good news. So more about the major changes:

    — Reworked video rendering. Now he runs a separate process that allows not freeze all of the DS for work, or what the command, and the performance of this has contributed positively.
    — Added support for external commands. Teams represent themselves separately compiled programs (ELF format), or lua scripts. Are they in the directory cmds.
    — Updated library fatfs (to work with SD card) to the latest version, as well as improve its performance in the DS.
    — Module sdiso now is not the module, now it is designed as external command. It also has been updated library fatfs and added support for long filenames.
    — New command:
    — bios — This command allows you to flash a BIOS (if you have a bios mod)
    — gdrip — Team to rip GD-ROM to the SD card.
    — hack — This command for hack LBA in a binary file. Maybe hack the binary directly in the ISO image.
    — ffdev — Command to work with the SD card.
    — dreameye — The command to save and delete photos from your camera dreameye.
    — luac — Compiler lua scripts to bytecode.
    — and other…
Just been handed down some internal commands to external, to facilitate a little core of DS.
    — A little refined file manager. There were tooltips in the toolbar, as well as in the header shows the current path.
Also it has built-in support firmware bios (when you click on the file extension .bios) and rip GD-ROM.
    — Added an application to install DreamShell in bios (if you have a bios mod). Now you can load DreamShell directly without disc with bios and SD card!
    — Added a new app Region Changer 1.8.
    — Added initial support network.
    — Added module lwip, which is an alternative to built-in support network.
    — Zip and bzip2 libraries were made in separate modules, to ease the DS core.
    — Added a virtual keyboard, which works as a console and a GUI.
    — Now L/R Shift of the joystick, you can call the console and the virtual keyboard.
    — Speed up loading the DS core.
    — Added the events mouseover and mouseout to GUI buttons.
    — New features in the API.
    — Lots of bugs fixes and optimizations.
    — A little refined boot DS with an SD card.
Compilation DreamShell was made with the latest version at the moment KallistiOS (r676), compiler gcc 4.4.4, binutils 2.20.1 and newlib 1.18 — From this had to be temporarily abandoned because of problems with SD card.
    — Rather, there is still something that I forgot
Even just the save game manager will be handy, I do like having the option of backing up saves

It plugs into the serial port of your Dreamcast if you buy one (located on the rear of the dreamcast)

If you actually have an ethernet port, then use it, or give it to me, I will find a use for it

The Dreamcast came with a standard 56k modem, ethernet or lan you had to buy seperatly.

If I had known about this manager before, I would not have spent the 10 bucks for my two memory cards....how many games actually use them for easter eggs? Like the little pets in Sonic Adventure?

    Cool thanks!

As for my collection, I have:
1x 1999 NTSC Console (used to have a compatible 2000)
    3x controllers (2 official, 1 third party)
2x VMU (one red, one blue I think)
    2x Phone Line port expansions.
    ~ 30 official games, and 60+ burned.

    Not that exciting really.

I forgot I have a dance mat aswell not that I use it but still nice to have as part of the collection

P.S. Blue-Swirl has a great tool for VMU's in that it not only can load saves onto a VMU from CD but it also has tools to enable 44 more save blocks on your VMU's and much more

It's called Dream Explorer, previously known as VMU Tools

    44 more?
And this doesn't erase any system files or anything?

Honestly don't remember I would do it with a blank VMU or make sure you test with one that you made a copy of the saves first

When I get my DC out next, Ill read into it more. But it sounds too much like magic.
You say its a CD that I can boot and run to unlock the extra space. Do you think I can boot VMU Tools from my SD card when I install the port?
