Default When did you get your first M (15 / 18) rated game?

Or just graphically violent game if your selection predates ESRB or you live in a region that doesn't use it.

Mine was the first Resident Evil when I was 15. my folks wouldn't let me within 100 feet of it until I was old enough, which was kinda hypocritical of em since they let me watch nightmare on elm street at 8. I'm also pleased to report that as an adult I have never had any urge to murder the innocent. Could it be Fox News has been *gasp!* overreacting?!

So what age did you get you first 18+ game? If you were under 18 did playing the game in fact turn you into the cannibalistic puppy raping terrorist that Fox claimed it would?

Honestly, I don't remember. Probably Twisted Metal Black because nothing previously had interested me enough.

I'm not entirely sure. The first "violent" game that I ever played was Doom. I think the first "mature" rated game that I ever bought would have been... Iunno. What did they rate Goldeneye, or Perfect Dark, for the N64? Or perhaps Jet Force Gemini... but I think all of those were rated "Teen"

Quake and goldeneye, i think i was like 9 or so when i played goldeneye and 8 when i played quaked.
Aust doesn't have R18 game classification, M15+ is the highest, so we get alot of games either banned outright or censored.

Way back when, during the glory days of Leisure Suit Larry on DOS. My uncle, he corrupted my poor, fragile little mind and made me twisted and evil, forever making me lust for 2d boobies.

Heh yeah. I think I played the original MK in the arcade when I was like 8, and then on SNES when I was around 10 or something. Then it was Carmageddon at age 12 or so, now THAT was a good M rated computer game.

So far I haven't ripped anyone spine out or plowed into groups of pedestrians, but there's still time left.

I dunno, probably the first Carmageddon and RE2 when I was like 10. Oh yeah, and Mortal Kombat 1 and 2.

*Shrug* My parents were always getting violent games for themselves when I was a lot younger that I used to play anyway.

Resident Evil, Quake, Death Trap Dungeon and whatnot...

Only one there that I really played at a young age was Quake though, although I preferred Quake II as the first one had zombies and that was a little scary.

GTA and Quake 2 when I was... 10 or 11 maybe?

PC magazines with demo discs, I could kiss you.

Actually wait, I played Mortal Kombat when I was a bit younger but it was the SNES version. I remember being confused as to why everyone thought it was so horrible and violent. My friend even had it for the Mega Drive but we didn't know about the blood code.

    Duke Nukem 3D, I think.

First I played was Mortal Kombat though, just never owned it - one of my mates did.

I don't seem to recall ratings on games when I was a child.
But kids were allowed to buy and smoke cigs back then

Early "violent/gore" games weren't really that visually scary......I suppose Wolfenstein 3D may have been the earliest violent game I had myself, but it's kinda hard to remember, and I was definitely an adult around then

It wasn't until I played Resident Evil on the Playstation console that I got really interested in graphic/violent games.
I think I might go play some more Dead Space now.

    Spoiler warning:

Let's see... In my case it'd probably be Doom. And I was probably about 8 or so at the time. It's been so long now. I feel ancient

But yeah, I've never really paid much attention to age ratings, and I'm not a psychotic mass-murderer yet.

World conquerer and greatest scientific genius in the world, on the other hand...
