There's no need to compress anything. That's probably where you went wrong. Did those 22 files have extensions like 001, 002, 003 and so on? If that's the case, you need to combine them first, and then extract the rar.
If they were something like gametitle_part01.rar, gametitle_part02.rar and so on, then just select the first one, part01, and extract. Make sure you have all parts in the same folder.

yeah they are like that but..... how do you combine? I selected all 22 files and added to this rar it had.... is that it? but if so i did it right all along.

Scroll down to Combining split files with 7Zip or Combining files with HJSplit. Depends on which one you want to use.
Once they're combined, you should have a rar file, right? You should just extract that and that's it.
i have winrar, so that explains it. let me see....
got 7zip, but its not letting me combine like his guide shows.

Are you sure the files have 001, 002, etc. extensions? Just take a screenshot, at this point that would probably be the easiest way to see what's wrong.
ok the files say sc-ssbm.001 up to 22 and the file type is 001 file 002 file ect.
i cant take screenshot cause i dont know that iether ^.^'
