Default Emulation - Bringing the Classics Back to Life

    Hey emulation fans,

There's nothing quite like the feeling of rediscovering a classic game from your childhood. But with old consoles and cartridges becoming harder to find, how can we keep these beloved games alive for future generations?

Enter emulation. With the power of modern technology, we can now play our favorite games from decades past on our PCs and mobile devices. From the NES to the PS2, emulation has opened up a world of possibilities for gamers around the world.

But there's more to emulation than just nostalgia. It's also a valuable tool for preserving gaming history and making these classic titles accessible to new audiences. With emulation, we can ensure that these games are not lost to time, but rather continue to inspire and entertain for years to come.

So, let's talk about it. What classic games have you rediscovered through emulation? What are your favorite emulation tools and setups? And most importantly, how can we continue to support the emulation community and ensure that these classic games remain available for future generations?

Emulation is great. It preserves gaming. My first experience with emulation goes to back to when I was like 13. A friend got tired of buying GBA games (his words) so he I guess he went online to find a way to play GBA games. That gave me idea that if GBA games can be played through emulation, perhaps there is NES and SNES. From where I found NES and SNES, I was able to play games I didn't get a chance to play. So many games. Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, relive games I did play when I was younger, Donkey Kong Country, Mario, Kirby, etc.

I hope emulation will keep on progressing and making advances.

My first experience with emulation was either the late 80's, possibly early 90's when I retired my Spectrum and bought an Amiga 500. I had a box of Amiga disks, one said Spectrum emulator. So I'd retired my Spectrum, bought an Amiga and was playing Spectrum games on it...

In early 2002 I was feeling nostalgic for some snes games. I remembered having super street fighter 2 for pc that also came with a gamepad for it in the box. So I started checking online if there were other snes ports to pc which I could find and download. I found a couple and as I was searching came across this little site called Emuparadise. Lo and behold I learned of emulation, grabbed I think it was zsnes at that time and happily started downloading snes roms for it. EP broke my emulation cherry!!

I started using emulators on Windows 95 which is prehistoric for PC.
