    Default Porn on the Desktop...

My dad called me down to fix his computer because he can't get this folder of porn off his desktop.
I'll leave this here for you guys to try and figure out if you can, I can't make it go away.

What message do you get when you try to delete it?

have you checked who the Owner is under Advanced Security Settings?
Sometimes if you want to do something with a file in Win7, it won't let you because the User isn't the default owner.
When I want your opinion, I will diffuse it from you through osmosis!

I've always found starting up in Safe Mode helps get rid of files I don't want/can't delete otherwise.

Are you sure is a folder? The icon say TVGAnna.part1. Maybe is a simple splitted-archive (you cannot add-remove files from some multi-splitted archives). Right click on the icon and get the filepath, then remove it!

Sorry for the late reply, I had to leave his house after that. I checked the admissions and I should have been able to delete it normally.
I didn't try safe mode though, I'll see if I can next time.
And my dad watches porn just like anyone else on the internet, he just isn't very good at it.

    Hi RetroSnake,
Have you been able to delete the files?
If you havent, have you checked if the antivirus have considered the files as virus?
Sometimes, the antivirus (Mainly AVG) blocks the file from being deleted, accessed or moved.
If it has, mark the files as exceptions, and then delete them.

if safe mode doesnt work you could always try a force deleting app that will delete a file no matter what.

But to be honest you want to boot in safe mode and do a full anti virus and anti malware scan

Maybe it's being locked by something. Try unlocking the folder (from it's process) with this: http://lockhunter.com/

Or maybe HD is messed up. A folder not deleting at all happened to me before.

He could also close AVG, or tell it not to auto-start.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but until he figures out how to delete it, he may be able to hide it by switching the desktop of his computer to display another folder. This way:
Open Regedit and navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders key. Edit the String value named Desktop to the folder of your choice.
-Hope this works on his OS.
