Default Problem with a few of games

I having problems with ePSXe 1.7.0

Well first off is thousand arms. It freezes at when Jyabil tries is teaching you to forge. I fixed it once, but about 2 or 3 minutes later it freezes again.

Then there is grand theft auto it makes it to the initial loading screen and the bar fills up. It goes no farther then that.

Finally on Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone when I try to go through on of the secret doors behind a bookcase it goes to a black screen and freezes.

Any help given will be accepted Gratefully.

Are you using an actual disc or an image (ie. bin/cue, iso)?
If using a disc image try a deferent version (if available) or just another image of the exact same game.
or if you are using a real disc try using an image from the roms section.

    Try these configurations.
For the Thousand Arms, set your sound plugin to Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41, and enable both SPU IRQ options under the Special Game fix.

If GTA freeze upon the loading screen, If you load it as an ISO, try to load the game through virtual drives, or CD.

as for the HP : TSS, try using different video/graphic plugins, and run it through virtual drives as well.

Ok Thousand Arms Problem is fixed. Thank You

GTA still has the Same Issue

I tried all the different video plugins I have(I have like six or seven). Only one didn't go to a black screen, but still freezes.

Try using Pete's OpenGL2 2.9, and set it to 'Nice'.

Have you tried loading the games on Virtual Drive? or burn it and run it using CD-ROM option?

The freeze issue happen on some rare occassions for HP, if you use savestates, try load it through memory card, and go through that area again.

Alternatively, use other emulators, such as pSX.

Pete's Open GL2 Driver 2.9 set on Nice is the video plugin that I normally use.

I have tried virtual drives (Both Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120).
I have also tried burning them

I generally don't use save states, because I like to stick with as close to original game play is possible. Plus with an infinite amount of memory cards who really needs a save state.

So I guess that leaves me with on of two problems or maybe both.

It could just be a bad Iso and I'll try to find another one
On the other hand it could be compatibility issues.

If that's it well I'd prefer to stick to an emulator that I familiar with. So I'll just have to wait for a new version.

Well thank you for you help and suggestions good sir or lady. (Whichever you may be)

Would it be the Director's Cut version of GTA? I ask because that's the only one listed on the compatibility list I just checked, so it's possible that it's just a compatibility issue if it's not the version you're using

Perhaps it's a bad ISO, perhaps not. Why don't you try it on pSX, and see if the same problem happen.

Not sure if there are any new releases for ePSXe, as it has been 2-3 years since the 1.7.0 has been released.

    Uh.. it's a 'sir', you're welcome.

she is saying that you dont want to use the directors cut because you will run into more issues try a different version of epsxe like 1.6 or 1.52 they sometimes work better for some other games
