I'm really missing Russia and even goddamned Denmark in this, at least they tried to win the game.

This. Though I don't particularly think Spain are to blame here. They actually played decently for the first half, and did what they had to do. They only switched off when it became apparent that the French had little to no interest in doing... er... anything. :/ France were one of my teams for the tournament, and their performance tonight was as half-assed as I've seen a team play since England's 0-0 with Algeria at the last World Cup. Spain are a great team and there's no shame in losing 2-0 to them, but playing like that is disrespectful to the nation, to its people, to the French fans, and even to the game. So not impressed.

I declare the name of this game to be: The Iberian Diving Festival.

Denmark had a lot of heart, shame for them they were up against juggernauts. They could have gone through in any other group I think. Probably could have won the non-Spain groups even.

@Elin: French football has been broken since WC 06.

    For sure. Desperately unlucky.

I know, but they've been really good since Laurent Blanc came in, going something ridiculous like twenty games unbeaten. And they have a good mix of established big team players and young talent. Really thought they could cause a few shocks. Should've learned after their dismal performance in the last World Cup, I suppose. :/

They lack any sort of team spirit and that's really their real problem imo. Too many philosophers and guys that think they are Zidane. If you look at the individual talents they could be a fine team. Mexes needs to never play again though.

So, first time we beat France in an official match. Ever.

The problem with those young talent is that they seem to be too problematic, jealous and with egos prone to clash. Domenech never gave them a chance and now that Blanc does, some of them don't want to respect an authority :/
Even tho I have to say that today it was all Blanc's fault. I guess that, in the end, he can't really hide the fact that he was a central defender when he was a player...

Can't agree enough, Denmark in Group A would have qualified quite easily along with Russia and both of them would have done a lot more of work than Czech Rep and Poland which only qualified because they're the damn hosts. :/ They gave a very good WC, but they're always in hard groups. They're definitely one of my scarce favourite teams on this Euro.

I can't help but think if they pulled another Domenech on Blanc. IIRC Laurent had some fights with Malouda and whatnot, so maybe the team wasn't very united and decided to pull another trick and get Blanc out.

Which they didn't know is that they made France's football bad. Lloris and Cabaye were among my favourite players on the French squad and I'm sad to see them leave the cup like that. But the rest of France? Way to fail mates, you were amazing at embarrassing yourselves.

How many flops in the box on Wednesday? Over-under at 10.5? I'll take the over.

Another good question is how much CRon whine face will we get.

Tomorrow's match feels like it could be a train wreck. No there...

Um... can I root for... peace and joy?
My dad is going to thrill though. Many people here are like: "Great! It will be us and our neighbours again." ---->

I don't know. Let the best win?

I have it clear, I want Engurland to win.

BTW, Germany never defeated Italy in an official match. Ever. Incredible but true.

I'm afraid this is football, there's no room for peace and joy here

I really thought after that first match between England and France I could actually start supporting England this tournament. The commentators were cautiously optimistic, tempered in their praise, respectful of their opponents' qualities, unbiased in their commentary... 180 minutes of football later and it became clear that they really hadn't changed at all. I hope you know that I hold you personally responsible for my inability to support my nearest neighbours, Mark Lawrenson.

It's going to be fun if Balotelli comes off the bench and decides the match, given how fond the English media (and pretty much every other country's media) are of him.
