Questions Regarding FF8

Ok, I have been using epsxe 1.5.2 and I have been playing Final Fantasy 8. I got up to disc 2 and the part where you see Balamb Garden and the FMV sequence of Rinoa on the deck of the floating Garden. However, when I try to exit the screen, the door does not open... This is a bug that I have found and can anyone inform me if there is a way around this? Thanks in advance.

I use vgs and i havent had any problems on any games so far(including ff8) so find vgs and convert the memory card
