a a ninja based snes game that had RPG elements and also a war system kinda like the Suikoden battles....

anyway after that the only remaining elements of the games i remmber is that you had to find gems in giant long and boring dungeons to gain ninjinsu

and the lay out of the battles was

    Foe You
    #...#...#...#...#...#...#...#...#
    ..#...#...#...#...#...#...#...#
    #...#...#...#...#...#...#...#...#

and you had a melee and ranged weapon

think there was 2 over types of spells and you could party with 2 more you hire

I really don't know because I haven't really played it, but when you say ninja RPG on the SNES, Inindo immediately jumps to mind.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Glad to help. I don't usually know the game unless it's something older like that.

ok guys i have just this second thought of a demo that i played yonks ago, if i remember rightly it was a pc game (not sure if it was ported or w.e) you played as a fox? and you had to go around and do something, one part that i remember vaguley is that the demo i had ended when you found this code to type into a phone box and you were supposed to go to the next level

im sorry its so vauge but its all i can remember

    EDIT:
there was also other games on this demo disc one was you were this blue guy and you had all types of wepons but it wasnt violent i dont think it was sorta light hearted and i think his name was ame (i used to think it was serious sam but i googled it and its defo not him haha)

Perhaps too obvious a guess, but it wasn't Titus the Fox by any chance was it?

Ah, I don't have a guess, but I think I know what genre you're talking about. It's an adventure game, sometimes considered "point & click adventure." There's a pretty good look at the genre here: http://hardcoregaming101.net/book.html (I mean looking further down the page at the articles on the site, not necessarily buying the book off of Amazon, unless you feel like it)

Maybe one of the "Spy Fox" games?

Is it the same kind of a game? The developers for Spy Fox were Humongous Entertainment. Unfortunately, it seems hard to find info on demo discs. It could have been all stuff by the same developers, or random stuff coming out around the same time...

I remember playing one when I was a kid, looked for it many times before and never found it again (Looked at puzzle game lists etc.). And everyone I've asked has never heard of anything like it. My memory isn't perfect either.
From what I remember it was on the NES or SNES (Only consoles our family owned). I think it was on the SNES though, I seem to remember holding a SNES controller.
Anyway, it was a puzzle game if my memory serves me right. Kinda reminds me of LoLo (but those are NES games, and don't match my memory).
The main character was climbing a tower or something, and at every period of about 10 levels I think it was you fought a boss. I remember a clown on top of a ball moving around who "threw" balls around and you had to kick em back at him once they stopped moving as the first or one of the first boss. I seem to remember the main character shown climbing a beanstalk (or something like it) as well, in clouds before the boss.
I don't think it had a password system or a save feature either, I remember trying to keep the system on all the time to "save" my progress. It was a rental from a store as well, so I didn't have it for very long.
I would really like to play it and finish it but for the life of me I can't remember anything else about it.
