    Default PS1 on the Internet on the PS3

    i love how i can download FF7, from this site, but i really don't want to use my computer to play it. im a little weary on putting an internet downloaded game into my PS3, so can anyone help me out? has anyone else done the same, and it worked good?

    Unless your PS3 is modded, you won't, to the best of my knowledge, be able to play downloaded games on it. Any ISO you burn to a CD will be recognised as a pirate game by the console, so you'll have to have a modchip or some other means of playing backups. Assuming that you have a means of playing backups, there's no overt difference between playing that and a commercial game. That's why piracy tends to be so...ah...rampant. Just make sure that you burn at the slowest speed possible, and don't burn to anything but high quality media. You can get away with using cheap and nasty stuff for a while, but you'll regret it when your laser begins to bite the bullet later.

    If you don't have a means of playing backups on your console, I'm afraid it'll have to be your PC. ; I think you can download certain PS1 titles from the Playstation Store and play those on your PS3, but FFVII isn't, to the best of my knowledge, among them. And I don't think the PS3's PSOne compatability has been busted open like the PSP's to the point where it'll play any ISO you care to throw at it. Sorry... ;__;

    AFAIK, there aren't any mod chips for PS3.

    if you dont want to use your comp because of controls you can pick up a USB controller converter for pretty cheap, i've got one and it works great. I think it was like 8 bucks or something.

    Well, this isn't easy. but maybe you could try installing linux onto your PS3, downloading teh romz and using a linux PSX emulator for it.
