So by some miracle, I actually managed to get Brawl tonight. And guess what? It doesn't work. Apparently something about some launch Wiis not being able to read it due to dirty lenses. It apparently happened in Japan too. Anyway, the shit part about this is that I now have to wait for a UPS label to show up since I have no printer (few days), send my Wii in (another couple days to get to WA), then wait for Ninty to repair it and send it back (about a week).

Goddamnit.

I had to send mine in for repairs a few months ago. After playing Galaxy, I
started getting little black lines appearing everywhere. Took 2 months... ugh

And to make matters worse, the Nintendo Rep I talked to tried to tell me it was
just scaling noise. She argued with me for like 20 minutes. Until I asked for her
supervisor, only then, did she give me a Repair Auth.

I am waiting on a new Wii with Mario Galaxy. It is being shipped directly from the manufacturers. Is the problem just limited to launch Wii's like you said, or do most Wii's go the same way over time?

Mines a launch Wii almost,
and Brawl is working fine.

If you remember mine was a factory defect,
But I got a replacement overnighted,
I heard it was to do with the dual layer disk and the Wii's insides being dirty from smoking.

But I smoke, alot.

I just got home a little bit ago and loaded up Brawl. It worked just fine. There's some odd artifacting on the title screen, but I have no idea what that's all about. Aside from that little issue, the game runs flawlessly.

Oh, not to rub salt in your wound, but it's great. Every bit as good as I was anticipating.
