    Default Recommend me a film

Yup, a movie that the girlfriend and I can watch later. I'm pretty clueless with this side of the entertainment industry (my expertise being in music, books and soliciting ), so anything that you think is a reaaally good watch would be appreciated.

Preferably something funny, but if not, then something serious but well done (I'm thinking The Great Debate as an example of that).

    Get to! Please

The classics are always a winner. Show the chick you've got some taste in the finer things. Don't need to reach all the way back to the black and white era, but anything on TCM or AMC is usually a safe bet.

    Life Is Beautiful.

It's a great movie. It's a tragedy, done by a very famous comedic Italian director (Roberto Benigini). The movie begins by following the Jewish main character's whacky adventures, and he ends up meeting a beautiful lady. They fall in love, have a kid, and then the halocaust begins. So, they get shipped off to a concentration camp (the kid is 5 or so). At the camp, the main character is trying to keep his son hidden, because he knows that the kids are being killed since they can't perform labor.

Sounds sad, and it very much is, but there is a whooole lot of comedy in it. Done without making the Halocaust look like a joke.

Now, it is an Italian flick. The dub isn't too bad if you or the chick don't like reading through a movie (understandble).

Well, if there is a girl involved it's better stick to some beautiful love-story
Not necessary something like Titanic. And if you don't like that kind of movies, may be some nice modern cartoon or Pirates of the Carribean. Any of them.

    Dystopias! Heck yeah!

Hm, Forrest Gump? If you haven't seen it. The Terminal is good too, in my opinion.

Obviously, Ema Skye is hawt. And kickass.
