Is there a lot of games like that or just a few. Would there be a way to make it self boot?
The Utopia Boot Disc is just like it sounds. If you have a game that isn't selfbooting (it won't load and play like a real game), then you first put in the Utopia disc, wait for it to load, then open the DC, take out Utopia, put in the game, and wait. It'll load it for you.

The games with 2 sessions just put the booting process and the game on one disc, but, you have to have enough room on an 80 minute CD to have the boot process on there. Some games just cannot be ripped small enough to allow room for both the game and the boot process on the same CD.

At this point, if a game hasn't been selfbooted already, there's a reason why...it's just too big.

EDIT: There are a few nonboot games out there. I'd say over 90% of the DC ISOs selfboot though.

You download and burn the boot disc to a CD-R yourself.

You're becoming a slow poster in your old age. That's twice in the same topic I've beaten you.

Anyway, the Dreamcast loads all copies without being modded at all.

That's awesome. I thought maybe the utpoia thingy was a program or something I needed to buy to use? I made a deal on CAG to trade my mass effect for a sports black dreamcast in great condition, sonic adventure, jet grind radio, 2 controllers 2 vmu's and the hook ups. He's shipping first too. So I'll have a DC in a few days

Then, I'm just going to trade some of my other older games and rebuy mass effect.

You should check the console has a (0) or (1) on the underside, (2) will not load backups.

    Yep, ask just that.

    Or the manufacture date.

Yeah but it's highly unlikely anyone will get a (2) system.
