I'm waiting till the highest tier ones come out, but depending on how it's priced I may go for it's predecessor. I figure the old product will take a price cut when the new one hits the market. Don't know which i'll get yet, but having a cheaper option available seems worth waiting for.

Hi guise. I fixed up a comp and put in a new graphics card for my brother. However the pc turns off randomly, altough the pc still runs, its as if it just cuts out. I thought it might be because I've put in another graphics card (was onboard before) and thought that it was some power issue, but was wondering if it might be something else. Any help would be appreciated.

Need more info. For a rough idea, try this. Keep in mind that if you're within 50W or so, it could still be the power.

But without that, I would assume that it is a power issue. Likely going over the limit of his PSU when the GPU is under load or something.

Sos for lack of info, but the only thing that has changed in the computer is that its started to cut out after putting in this new card (Dunno if PCI cards make a difference?) So I'm assuming that cut outs have to do with the power. Will need to have a look at the computer tomorrow (my bro's gone to bed ) I have a spare Power supply (better one) or I might take out one of the CD drives (one is faulty anyhow) to see if that works before messing around with the power supply. Cheers dude.

Can you rma the video card? It might be dead. If it was a power issue i'd think the whole computer would shut off, and flicker when you attempt to turn it back on.

Only time I've ever encountered random shut downs is because of overheating.

Well, it's the end of the month and it still didn't come out, and i've reached the deadline for when the project was supposed to be done by. Maybe i'll get a cheaper card. Which one of these is the best for around $200? I know the first one is factory superclocked but it's cheaper than the other nonSC editions. I have an AMD motherboard. Thoughts?

Does anyone know whether or not Ethernet cords use solid core wires?
I would like to use this kind of wire, but I don;t want to spend any money, and Im not at home to check my cut Ethernet cord.

Cat-5 cables can be either solid or stranded.

Cool, like I said before, Im not in my room.
If I was I would check it, I actually have two that I can use for spare wiring. Chances are one is solid core.
