There are, but Demonoid struck a real nice balance for me in widespread postings and well seeded torrents. I could find almost everything I looked for, and it tended to be seeded. Not so on certain other sites, I'm afraid.
Mininova's taken over as my default site to open up when looking for something.

If you can get ahold of the torrent, you might be able to download it still. I managed to snag a few Demonoid torrents, because there are a few people left on DHT still seeding/downloading.
Anyway, hope this is true, Demonoid had a better community than most private trackers out there, not to mention the amount of obscure stuff available over there...
