Yes. Remove it all, go back to stock. Get SID4 (seems there is no 5 ). Install it onto the hard drive (Splinter Cell and Linux saves). Load up Splinter Cell and install the softmod again.

X,Y,Z drives are cache, so that games can load faster and shit. Just delete everything on those drives. Clear all folders from E except UDATA and TDATA. On C remove all softmod related files.

Do not delete anything then if you're doing it that way. Restore M$ dash. Reboot Xbox, load Splinter Cell load up the new Softmod installer, install softmod and install your dash

Clear all folders from E except UDATA and TDATA. On C remove all softmod related files.

Place the files from the memory stick onto the hard drive in E:\UDATA (this means files for both softmod installer and splinter cell). Now turn off the Xbox, turn it back on with the open tray button. It should give you the softmod installer screen now.

Tell me, which approach are you taking. Are you going back through the M$ dash road, or are you going to just upgrade the softmod with the softmod installer?

Sorry to bump this, but it appears ERROR 16 is caused by an old softmod that has been unplugged from the wall for a while which causes it to go loopy. If you do get it back on I recommend you resoftmod the Xbox with SID 4 or 5

As far as I remember, (could be wrong) you are referring to once someone has fucked the softmod, then unplugs the Xbox and leaves it powered down for a few hours. I used auto installer deluxe v2 or something similar (can't remember) and it still works fine.

Some people over at UG have this "Bert & Ernie" softmod and it fucks their softmod over it if is unplugged from the wall for a few hours.
