As the title states I think I may have a bricked PSP on my hands.
I recently picked up a supposedly non-working PSP cheap from some folks. The people I bought it from claimed that to their knowledge the PSP needed a new screen b/c the PSP powers on and nothing shows up. They claim the PSP was dropped in thier driveway and thats the reason it was for sale.
Now I recently received said PSP and examined it. The system does power on as mentioned, but i sincerely doubt it needs a new screen. The back light comes on and show flawlessly, but as mentioned nothing shows up; only the back light of the screen.
I also checked the motherboard version. It is a TA-082, it has the "C1003" stamped on it.
Now I have a few questions:
1.) PSP came with the Greatest Hits Version of GTA: Liberty City Stories. I put the UMD in my PSP and it has the v2.60 FW update on it. Is this the one that can be used for downgrading?
2.) I would like to know what a bricked PSP screen looks like and how a bricked PSP functions.
3.) Is there a way I can confirm this as a bricked unit and not a broken screenl?
4.) How do I unbrick a PSP with the TA-082 Motherboard?
5.) I would like a tutorial showing how to take apart a fat PSP. (No youtube please I am on the dial up). This PSP was damaged but I doubt it was on a driveway. I do need to open it up a re-position some buttons and clean the goo.
Thanks for any advice and help I receive.
