Well guys, I finally switched over to SSF. I'd been a hard GiriGiri fan for awhile--it was the first emulator I had that actually worked and didn't take 90 minutes of configuring every time I wanted to play a rom. Plus, it let me run cues and bins directly instead of having to mount them.
But, when I switched machines, I lost whatever version of GiriGiri I had that let me use a USB controller; hence, with the version I have now, I have to use a keyboard, and the Saturn's got too many buttons for that to work.
So, I'm using SSF. It runs alright, though I still hate the mounting.
In any case, I was fooling around with it and trying some games, and tried NiGHTS. I lost my save data from GiriGiri (Nooooooo!), so I had to start at the first level. Trying it out, something seems...off. I can't put my finger on it, but something about the music definitely ain't right. Either some instruments are missing, or the music is going too slow, or something. Whatever it is, I don't know what's causing the problem, and I'm not sure how to fix it.
Ideas? I checked the opening again, and there's definitely stuff missing; that eardrum-splitting fairy noise when you start a level is nowhere to be found, among other things.
Also, is there a way I can configure it so that I can use both the D-pad and the joystick on my PS2 controller? Normally I'd just use the D-pad, but for NiGHTS the stick works a bit better.
