Default How to Take off PS2 Faceplate?

I know there are two little things you take off, but I am not sure exactly where and I do not want to do it wrong. This is so I can use Swap Magic.

You open the disk drawer then power down the system. Make sure to unplug it. See the little faceplate thing on the front of the disk-tray? Pry it off. You should be able to do it with your hands and rather easily, but if not, it's alright. As long as you're not jerking the disk-tray around too much, you should be fine.

Once you've removed it, plug the PS2 back in and power it on. Hit the button that opens the tray a couple of times to reset the tray to its normal position. Then stuff and things.

Really, it's that easy man. And there are tutorials all over the place I'm sure. Hell, I wrote one for playing PSX backups on a PS2 that applies just the same here. If you need any more help, and I should hope that you don't considering how simple this is, let me know.

EDIT: If you have trouble prying the faceplate off, start with the sides. Loosen them, and the thing should come off without a problem.

I did it, worked just fine, at least I think, I don't have the stuff, so I can't be entirely certain.

EDIT: And yes there is a little screw, it came right off and I reattached it afterwards.

wait, it "came right off" as in it popped off when you pulled off the faceplate? Or "it came right off" as in it wasn't hard to get off? Because we took it off to prevent breaking anything.

I'd be impressed if you managed to snap it by pulling it off. I broke mine by standing on the ejected disc tray, and all that did was snap off a tiny piece of plastic

I find it hilarious that in the pictures attached, the dude is using tweezers and wearing gloves. That's overdoing it a bit.

It is very easy to break the little plastic tabs in this process even with the utmost care, but still not a very big deal.
