    Default epsxe dual-core debunk.

I looked at the dual-core thread, got the download, tried it, did all the cmd prompts to make only epsxe run it and I have to tell you... even on a quad-core there is no diffirence. epsxe will still slow down as it would on on a dual-core. It's not the hyperthreading, it's the output of ghz, or just GFX installed/driver/directX/emu; like running a hyper fast game like SF EX 2 or Tekken 3. I got a 2.3 ghz single AMD on my old comp and it chops FFT (Cause of gfx card, yay geforce3), but I have a second comp which is a Dell special 3.3 DC I got for very cheap with a nVIDIA 7300 LE and it runs just fine without your .exe in system32. My quad core? 2.8(Per Core) with a nVIDIA 8800 I have to watch FPS on epsxe cause sometimes it will run it at 80fps if I don't put the limit on, yet certain games even at 80FPS still lag and have horrid sound sync.

GFX cards/plug-ins make a big difference too of course, but I think this whole dual core thing is wrong.

Hope this will help your site.

Nor does the .exe that makes epsxe run on one core.

The problem here is that the dual-core fix is, surprisingly enough, specifically for dual-core systems. It's also nothing that can't be done by adding an execution flag to the shortcut. You want to fix that problem on a quad-core? Just change the god-damn affinities so it only runs on one core.

    Problem solved, in my experience.

The dual/multi-core problem affects how ePSxe plays the game's video/audio files.

Unless you set ePSXe to run on only one processor, the FMV's will run at very high fps, even if you enable the FPS limit.
This will cause the video to stutter and the audio to not be in synch.

I've confirmed this with my own comp, which is a dual-core, and I fixed the problem using this method:
    http://www.epforums.org/epsxe-does-n....html?p=898433

If you can't get it to work for you, try using this Patcher with the imagecfg fix:
    http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7qom8/segnin/Patcher.zip

    Instructions:
Unzip Patcher and imagecfg to a folder.
Open Patcher and browse for imagecfg.exe and for epsxe.exe
    Click "Patch".

Is there an "undo" method of this btw? What if for some reason I had to change it back the way it was before I disabled the hyperthreading to that of single core use?

would it be imagecfg -a 0x4 for example? (i'm on a Quad Core)

Until someone updates ePSXe to run properly on multi-cores, then there'll be no reason to undo it.
And ePSXe development appears to be dead.

    I think that's how you'd undo it.

All else fails, just rename or move the epsxe.exe file to somewhere else.
I think that will also undo it.
