So, I'm burnt out on WoW and my other MMO's and need some single player games to tide me over until Warhammer is released.. RTS, FPS, whatever.. help me choose some out, preferably stuff that can run on an older PC setup.

if you havent, check out fallout 1 and 2
How old are we talking here? Can you give us exact specs? Just taking a guess at the age amd what you like, I'd say Orange Box [contains HL2, EP1, EP2, Portal and TF2 (which is multiplayer)], Call of Duty 1/2, Need for Speed Most wanted if you're into racing, and perhaps Age of Empires III
polo seems to be a keen Warsow player. Free and all. You might wanna check it out.
If you haven't played Deus Ex yet, now is the time.
diablo 1 and 2,warcraft 1,2 and 3,I don't like starcraft but most people do,so maybe you'll like it,and it runs on older computers fine, deus ex has already been mentioned, and if you like that kind of not-so-straight-fordward fps with inventory and skills and plot (as opposed to "just shoot everything that moves"),
check out system shock 1 and 2,(hee,I'm currently playing system shock 1 AGAIN myself, and I'm not bored or losing interest even when I already know it and I completed it not so long ago).
oh,another cool rts game is homeworld, the story and the universe and "mythos" the developers invented for it are very interesting.
final fantasy 7 and 8 run fine on older systems too.
oh,and a pretty good action game is "oni".
hmm...are you interested in a particular kind of game?
nothing
Deus Ex, System Shock, Hitman, Freedom Fighters, Half-life, Portal, Freelancer, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (I suppose Return to Castle Wolfenstein is good, but your mention of MMOs makes me recommend the freeware multiplayer component first and foremost), Alien vs Predator, Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Max Payne, Grim Fandango, Psychonauts.
As I was walking down the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish, I wish he'd go away.
The Witcher, but you said older pc so...
Bumpity bump bump.
Can someone recommend me some PC stuff, but only that which will run nicely on my laptop (ie not too graphic intensive) and stuff which will play well sans mouse, as Im using the fucking stupid trackpad thingy.
Ta.
Touch my twat.
Which genre would you be interested in?
