Default final fantasy game play system

what is the best game play system of final fantasy to you!

    Job/Classes System
    Materia System
    Junction System
    Weapon/Abilities System
    Sphere Grid System

for me the best is junction system. althought sphere grid is good but i like junction much because its so natural, you cant unleashed spell or other magical skill without the Guardian Force...

The best system? That's a toss up between the Materia system and the Junction system. But, since I enjoyed FF VII more, I'll go with the Materia system.

    Classes or junctions.

Although junctions were way too easy to exploit.

I'M INVINCIBLE TO ALL ELEMENTS AND DEAL 9999 DAMAGE BY THE END OF DISC 1!

FF8 was just no good. It bored me to sleep quicker than FFX. Couldn't even get bored with FFX2, cuz I just wanted to take a sledge to the PS2 when I heard them sing.

In closing, FFT is the bestest. FF7 for the silver. FF3 for the Bronze.

Hey!!!! Dude forgot to put Esper System in OP!!!! -REP!!

I would assume Esper system = Abilities system.

Could be ,but I thought these were in order. I only played like 30 minutes of FF9 before I just couldn't play any more so I don't know what sort of system that used.

    Materia System
    Junction System
    Weapon/Abilities System
    Sphere Grid System

At any rate, Espers were never called anything else in the game so I really think nobody would just arbitrarily make up "Weapon/Abilities System".

Weapon/Abilities system comes from FFIX, and since FFVI only grants abilities & benefits from equiping Relics, I'd say they're different... OK, need to stop that...

FFIX's system is fun and not prone to abuse (AFAIR), so I'll go with that. Does it matter?

I find I like pretty much all the systems except the junction stuff. The job classes from FFT was pretty cool. I liked the sphere grid and materia system also, and don't mind the license system as well. They really have to get back to making things much more character specific though.

Jobs and Classes lots of customization.

Materia only worked on magic and only Artrith could make good use out offensive spells

Junction system was easy to abuse.

Weapons and abilities limits what abilities you get until you get the item making it more challenging to get a certain ability, its okay and I don't really mind it.

    Sphere Grid is just... eew...

i liked FF6 a lot, so i'd have to say Espers. but since nobody here was alive when FF6 came out, ummm i'll pick Materia.

The Job system from FFV. The game is inferior to 6 and 7 but I prefer that incarnation of the job system.

    Yeah, I'm a weirdo.

On a side note, I wouldn't include FFT in discussions like this. It's certainly brilliant, but discussing it amongst the regular FF games is a bit like discussing Mario Kart amongst Mario All-Stars

    A tie between Job/Classes & Weapons/Abilities.

    Materia was kinda fun too.

Junction system's OK, but a bit annoying & time-consuming, what with having to reconfigure the junction settings, and remember which magic was best for which attribute, every time you, or the game, switched out your characters.
