I think that all that is available right now is like, Magician Lord, World Heroes, Fatal Fury, and Art of Fighting. That's alright, but not what I'm looking for. I'm hoping to see games like Mark of the Wolves up there, as well as the Metal Slug games. Or whatever.
If Ninty is doing Neo Geo in VC, then I would like to see Samurai Shodown 4

I wouldn't rule it out, just because of something like that. Y'know, because the Wii is backwards compatible with GC games, and Sega did release a couple of anthology packs for that console that featured most of the Sonic games. And yet we've seen that series hit the VC, have we not?
I know that's not exactly iron-clad reasoning, but it does sort of speak to the fact that Nintendo isn't against making an extra buck if they're able, nor are their licensees for that matter.
Seeing as Anthology on the Wii is far from being the ideal source from which to derive a pure Metal Slug experience, what with the gimmicky control schemes that nearly render the games unplayable and all that, I wouldn't put it past either them or SNK to release the series one-by-one on the VC, along with the bold claim that the releases represent the games as they were always meant to be played.
Tying into that is the potential market made of up people who would buy it even owning the Anthology already, just for the opportunity to own the Neo Geo originals. You know the sort of person I'm talking about. The one that has to have every version of a game in a series, just for the sake of completion.
Barring all of that, they can always attempt to justify it by suggesting that there might be gamers out there who only want a couple of the games in the series, and that they would be able to snag only those that appeal to them in particular, rather than being required to spend cash on a compilation that contains games they don't want. Never mind the fact that it would be a better deal to simply buy the compilation even if you're only interested in a few of the games, it's all about the cash grab!
Trust me, if Nintendo and SNK see the potential for profit in it, the Metal Slug series will hit the VC.
Anyway, I echo your Shock Troopers 2 sentiment.
As much as I love the major Neo-Geo fighting games, most of them got good ports to other systems so this isn't as big a triumph as I'd like.
When the lesser known fighters, the shooters and the oddball games (I don't care what anyone says, Windjammers is still one of the most fun 2P games out there) make it onto the VC, I'll mark out.
Mark of the Wolves would be godlike.
Samurai Showdown 1. I was sick as hell with Ukyo, Hanzo, and Haohmaru.
Shock Troopers 2 would be a great addition to the VC, but I thought the original Shock Troopers was a much better game (better animation, less use of the Donkey Kong Country-like rendered graphics, more characters)
If they bring Neo Drift Out to the VC it is so bought.
That game is amazing.
Also The Last Blade 2 and The Super Spy would both be pretty rad aswell.
were there any adventure type games, or were they all fighters and action games?
