    Default Sega CD sound problems

I just downloaded SonicCd from here and I tried to run it with the gens emulator and the fusion emulator. The game ran fine but there is no music in the background at all.i can hear the sound when sonic jumps and stuff but there is no background music.I got segacd usa bios file and everything but still no music.
I have the same problem with both emulators when trying to run this game.I also noticed it came with a sound file zip but I have no idea what to do with it.I extracted it but still no background music.does anyone know how I can fix this problem

What was in included in the archive. The music on most SegaCD games is stored as CDDA tracks and are usually archived as mp3s for emulation.

You have to rename the mp3 files so they match with the iso file.

Example: if the iso file is named:

    Sonic.iso

Then the mp3's have to be named:

    Sonic 02.mp3
    Sonic 03.mp3
    Sonic 04.mp3
    etc.

Then put all the mp3 files in the same folder as the iso file, so that when you load the iso file, the emulator will automatically find and load the mp3 files too.

    Your welcome Reezy.

But, working with GENS, but not Kega Fusion, that's...weird.

For Kega, try going to: CD Drive > None.

Then to play: File > Load SegaCD Image > Choose either the cue sheet or the iso file.

If that doesn't work, try making a cue sheet of the iso+mp3s with Sega Cue Maker:
    http://www.racketboy.com/downloads/sega-cue-maker.htm

Finally, here's what the ReadMe says:
Fusion supports ISO+MP3 and ISO+WAV for SegaCD. For this feature to work
the ISO and MP3s or WAVs need to be in the same folder, and they need to be
    named correctly.

If your ISO file (which is track 1 on a CD) is named example.iso then the
MP3s/WAVs need to have the same name, followed by a two digit track number,
and then the MP3 or WAV extension. E.G:

example.iso (this would be track 1 on a CD)
example 02.mp3 (because the first audio track is track 2 on a CD)
    example 03.mp3
    example 04.mp3 (etc.etc.)

A common problem is having "hide extensions for known file types" set in
Windows Folder options. This means that your files will end up being named,
for example, 02.mp3.mp3 - and therefore not loaded - because you cannot
    see the final mp3 extension.

Finally, Fusion uses the Windows MP3 Codec to decode MP3s. If your codec is
missing or damaged you need to reinstall it. Google should help you find an
    MP3 ACM codec installer.

If it was his speakers, then he wouldn't have gotten the game working in GENS with sound

    Please don't bump old threads.

Asides from anything files had been stored differently back then and redump images had not been available, the information in this thread is accurate for the time.
