We want one just to play DS games. I've heard about the R4DS being the best.
Would someone recommend a cheap/good/1GB flashcard, that we can buy in the UK?
Oh yeah. We're not bothered about GBA games, although that'd be a nice feature.

There are sites that will sell you a 1GB microSD card with the R4 for about $60. Kingston and Sandisc are the best brands of microSD cards for use with the R4. Since the R4DS only uses microSD cars to store all of the data for it instead of internal chips like other cards there is less risk of waring out the card since the chips in the R4 are pretty much read-only and are mostly used to load stuff from the microSD loaded in the slot on the top of the cart.
The R4DS can also support 2GB and the new 4GBA microSD cards and if you have more then one microSD card the amout of storage you have for it is virtually limitless.
I think he just likes starting random threads for the hell of it...

Sometimes it's good to start a new thread instad of continuing an old one just because it's similar since it's less confusing when the first post has everything you need to know about what the person's question is (at least it should be anyway).
@Astaroth
I guess not a lot of people realize that you're a mod here.
Maybe just a little . It must have been because of his fancy name.
Since we already have a stickied thread about this subject, and Astaroth says he's not getting a DS atm, I'm locking this.
Btw, here's the stickied thread if anyone wants to comment further:
