    Default Happy 8th birthday, Dreamcast!

Yes, today marks eight years to the day that the Dreamcast was released. So let's all talk about the single greatest system in the history of video games!

I didn't get my DC until after it's "death", and for $50 at that, from Toys R' Us. It was their last one, too. The display unit. Picked up MvC2 and Sega Smash Pack (which was marked at $40 and rang up for $10) with it. Been loving the DC ever since.

Poor, poor Sega. I liked Saturn a lot more, but it shared a similar fate.

PS: Why do you have Michelle from Full House as your avatar and signature?

I killed a Dreamcast. It was really old when I got it and I tried my best to fix it... But I couldn't do anything... it was already too late.

Bought a new one right after that horrible event though.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

    20
    18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker
    Yes

    218
    102 Dalmatians
    Yes

    52
    4X4 Evolution
    Yes

    258
    4 Wheel Thunder
    Yes

    161
    ...

I bought my first Dreamcast from the Walmart in New Castle, because our Walmart was out of them and wouldn't tell me when the new shipment was coming in. It wasn't launch day, but it was still pretty new. I *think* I still paid $199 for it. I remember Family Video wouldn't even rent the games because they were so sure the DC would fail.

It won't come as a surprise for me to say the first game I played on my DC was Dead or Alive 2 on the Generator demo disc included with the system. From the initial *boing*, I was hooked

    I You, Dreamcast.

It's been that long? I remembered wanting one, but I never got one until just a few months ago.

I enjoyed it. It was a pretty good console for it's time. I mainly loved Code Veronica and Marvel vs Capcom 2.

It wasn't all that great, sure it was excellent. But nahh, PS2 whizzed all over it and we know it.

Maybe Sega did the right thing, killing it off. There again...

Anyways, I got one not long after its release in the UK. I only ever had Sonic Adventure T___T. then we got rid of it for reasons unknown, then i didntget another til after its death. : (((

Which is why you aren't qualified to opine on it's greatness.

It is a pretty great console. My bro got his hands on one, and to be honest I had more fun with it then I did my PS2 =O The only thing the PS2 had going for it against "the greatness" was MGS and GTA. And Gran Tourismo I suppose.

Skies of Arcadia... Grandia 2... Power Stone 2... so many memories.

One of the best consoles, even better than PS2 in my opinion.

    Long live the Dreamcast.
