Final Fantasy VIII PSX problem on ePSXe

Ok my first problem is not only with this game but with all the other games as well. When i play games on my ePSXe, it runs really fast, even the messages and commands, just everything.

My problem with FF8 PSX is that the commands that should appear while in combat(attack, items, gf etc) is not appearing..Even the names and their Hp's..

And the graphics suck.. really suck.. Im using GeForce FX 5200. Can i improve my graphics? Or just try to ignore it?

For the best graphics, you'll need a decent graphics card and the Open GL2 plugin:

Download and unzip it to ePSXe's plugin folder.
Start ePSXe > Config > Video > select the OpenGL2 plugin.

Then click Configure and set everything as shown here:

If you can't use the OpenGL2 plugin, then get the OGL/D3D plugins instead:

Then after selecting either the D3D or OpenGL plugin, set it as shown here:
