I still haven't gotten the PS3 yet. Was about to a couple of days back, but then the dude behind the counter talked me out of it saying it was a big investment.
He mentioned the XBOX 360 and the Wii flying off the shelves because of many reasons.

Asked me what I wanted to do on my PS3 such as gaming of media, or both.
    I really wanted gaming.
So he redirected to me to the XBOX 360 and saying the good reason keeping me back on that would be the game exclusives.

I had a thought about getting the 360, but all these things about "the Red Ring of Death" kept me far away from it.

    Now I'm eBay-ing on PS3's, haha.
meh, hopefully a good deal comes up.

I was willing the get the new one for $500 anyways.
The Demo for Stranglehold came out yesterday.

Yeah, reason enough for the PS3

I don't mean to bump the thread, just wanted to say thanks to everyone's input once again.
I have my PS3 and am now playing on my SDTV. It's the 20GB version, but it was a bargain. With the stuff I downloaded, could use a bigger size, but it'll do for now.
I must say without looking much at the HD, for me, the graphics are still great.
I know it sounds lame, but once again I'm staying away from HD so I don't kill my spirit over it, haha.
For now this will do. And yes, Stranglehold is awesome, as well as Heavenly Sword!

Btw, I haven't done it but I heard upgrading the PS3's hard drive is quite easy.

    >100gb hard drives aren't expensive nowadays either.

I searched online after you said that, and it does seem easy. It's pretty cheap too. Found some nice hard drives for under $200 which holds about 160 GB
Thanks for the reminder, I totally forgot about changing hard drives, haha!

Wow! Getting it on release day! I haven't preordered yet, but I am getting it.

Now that you mentioned standing in line... I'm not sure I can grab it on that day.
