That IoControl error means that your copy of Shenmue has been patched, probably to make it self-bootable.

ChanKast doesn't have a workaround for that IoControl error, but ChanKastEx does.

Get ChanKastEx from here:

Here's the way to fix that IoControl error.
After installing and setting up ChanKastEx, go to Configure > Advanced > Don't report CD errors.

However, your better off with NullDC, if you can get it working.
Either that or download a copy of Shenmue that hasn't been patched, like the one on Sprung's FTP.

Ok tried Chankastex but still not workin just does the same thing. Jet Set Radio doesn't work also so it might not be Shenmue that's not working but if it is uhh whats the site for Sprung's ftp ><

That should have fixed the IoControl error.

You just need a few more posts before you have enough to be given access to the FTP forum:

I think you have a bad copy of Shenmue.

Get the one from Sprung's FTP.
That copy definitely works--I tested it with both NullDC & ChanKast.

I found Jet Grind Radio, which is the US version, and it works in both NullDC & ChanKast.

Get it from Sprung's FTP.

Ok just finished downloading Jet Grind Radio from Sprung's FTP and it's still the same results only I see sihlohette(is that how you spell it?) like images on the Chankast emulator while the nullDC one is still the same thing

Can you post a screenshot?

I think Astaroth is correct about it being your graphics card.

Maybe it'll work if you go into your gfx card's settings and change or enable/disable something?

I wonder though if anyone with a non-ATI or NVidia card has ever gotten any DC emulator to work properly.
