    Default nulldc Problems Cant Start

Ok so I just finished downloading the Shenmue game and the nullDC emulator. When I tried to start it it always shows a box sayin that "nullDC_100b1.exe has encountered a problem and needs to be closed"

Then I tried switching PowerVR plugin to the Chankast plugin and it did work but when I ran the game the window turns black and nothin shows up but the sound.

    Can anyone help pls ?

    Thanks

I could try that but I have Windows XP.

    Anything else that could work?

If you need more info just tell what else you need.

Other than uninstalling it, then re-installing it using setup.exe, I have no other ideas.

So try setting it to administrator and see if it fixes the problem.
    If not, try re-installing it.
And maybe restart your computer after re-installing it.

Sorry, I can't be more helpful, but this emulator is fairly new, and so far very few people have had your problem. So, there doesn't seem to be a known fix for your problem other than setting it to administrator.

I suppose you could post your computer specs too though.
Maybe that'll give us a clue.

I'm not sure how you set it to administrator.

But what is your graphics card?

Go to Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenence > System > Hardware > Device Manager > click the plus next to Display adapters:

That will show your graphics card.

Your graphics card should work with DC emulators because it has the required Hardware T & L.

Have you installed the latest version of DirectX?
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Have you tried other games besides Shenmue?

Have you tried other DC emulators or other virtual drives?

Or activating all the Emulation options with Daemon Tools?
Right-click on Daemon Tools icon in systray > Emulation > All options ON.

Yes I have the latest direct x version.

Not yet because shenmue is the first dreamcast game i downloaded so far

I tried Chankast but it just shows a grey screen with the swirl oulined in black and a black box under the swirl, then it goes to a lightesh blue screen with sound.

I just did the emulation actions with Daemon tools but I dont really know how to use it with nulldc ><

To play with Daemon Tools, or other virtual drives:

Start NullDC > Options > Select Plugins > For GDRom Plugin, choose zNullGD > OK.

Now go to Options > GDRom > and choose whichever letter represents your virtual drive > OK.

Now you can use Daemon Tools to play.

OK, I tried the game, and my copy works fine with NullDC using either video plugin.

So, I'm guessing it's either your copy of the game, or maybe the way you have your graphics card set?

Which plugins have you tried so far?

And from where did you download the game?

    EDIT-
I forgot you can't get NullDC to work.
Well, I tested it in ChanKast too, and aside from some minor graphical and sound issues, the game works fine.

I got the copy on Sprung's FTP, but the one offered here should work too...

Under Options, I have ZWrite and AlphaTest Zwrite both checked, and Cable Type is set to NTSC.

And for CDrom plugin, I'm using CDrom Interface xxx.

    So, try those settings.

Ok I tried those options with Chankast and it makes a io control error thing.

And I just finished downloading Jet Set Radio and tried it on nullDC but it does the same thing.
