    So why not COD3/Forza?
It seems the problem is game specific. Could be a bad copy, or too new to work with your soft mod...I know SWL 2 is fairly new.

I have had games that work on my Xbox, that don't work on another Xbox with the same soft mod...Meh.

I think I'm going to upgrade the softmod with SID v5. And going to change back to UnleashX for the time being.

    Check the edit, btw.

EDIT: I'll report back later with results, of upgrading softmod/changing dash. Can't be bothered to do it right now.

I guess I could try extracting it to ISO and FTPing it...
    XBMC is a terrible Dashboard.

    You're a bad man Sprung.

No other dashboards allow for filestreaming, etc.

Launching Forza through UnleashX did not help.
I'm being lead to believe the hard drive's fucking up...

I was browsing game saves with UnleashX and it locked up.
Also, XBMC is giving me black screens a lot. I have to press back or B to get back to the main screen, then go back to it..

EDIT: Out of curiosity I loaded Forza from DVD. Guess what, selected my profile. Locked up.

I attempted upgrading my softmod with AID 4.01. I got an error midway through. Foolishly I restarted the Xbox cos it said it had finished. Now it boots error 14. Does not load discs.

I would have tried soft modding the stock hdd with the bare minimum files, then made the 80gb hdd from the stock hdd. You can always install your apps once everything is working.

When playing Forza from dvd, are you using a new save file, or the one you tried when playing from the hdd?

Also, I have auto installer deluxe 3 dvd, there are more options/tools than slayers 2.6. I will upload it as a Nero image to megaupload if you want it. It's around 3-400mb...I think.

You'll have to re-build the hdd from your xbhdm disc.

Astaroth, quit with the double and triple posting. You should know how to use the edit button by now. Keep it up and this thread gets locked.

    It should be.

If the worst comes to the worst, I have an XBHDM disc with the UXE exploit already on it. There's no eeprom on the disc, you'll have to hotswap to use it. I use it to repair other people's Xbox's. It's around 16mb.

    Heres some new suggestions:
Make sure your clock is set correctly. Certain games screw up if they arent. Boot into the Xbox Dash to be sure

Delete your current save profiles or copy them off.

    Turn off IGR

Do them in whatever order you see fit, but Id definitely start with the first one anyway.

No worries. Check the edit the image I put in.

    Sorry Mikey.

And, this would be sufficient for the new E drive?

(Folders are empty except for BACKUP)

Borman: Thanks for the input, but I've bricked it now so it doesn't matter.

Yes. But it's got XBMC and all that shit on it. I'm trying to get rid of all this starting fresh with just the bare minimum files (SID, dashboard, T/UDATA folders)

Btw, Xboxhdm will format all the partitions won't it?

Right, put that back in. Use the Slayers disc I uploaded.

Select option 3) New Install/Full rebuild.
Then select option 3b) New Install/Full rebuild - Retail hd.

That will put your Xbox back to retail...You can now start from scratch with the soft mod.

Edit: There's an option for an upgraded hdd, but I've not tried that...

I want my 80GB hard drive in the Xbox.

EDIT: I am aware I can go back to the 10GB SeaGate drive at any time. But I don't want to.

    Check the edit.

You can make an image from the newly soft modded stock hdd, then build the 80gb from that.

Wait a minute...You can't boot from the 80gb atm is that right?

You will have to start from scratch then.
