While I prefer the freshness of a format, it never hurts to try to locate the problem. Have to tried running Hijack This? It might show some background processes you can kill.

I actaully learned how to install a second drive,and memory myself. had to get another Pc used to have an Hp pavailion just got a Compaq presarion for $300 bucks a nice one too with 120gigs of space and 512mb memory

Also, yeah, you should have played it Sprung. I mean, it's only really a graphical upgrade of the XBox Gaiden, so if you've played that, you only have a bit of new content to look forward to, but man are the graphics sweet.

Oh, and it's a remake of a really good game too, so yeah. Worth playing.
