They're all good, IMO. I didn't enjoy one more than the other.

Dawn of Dreams feels like the absolutely most polished one. And the gameplay has been improved in most ways. It's probably the best of the Onimusha games. However I would also recommend Onimusha 3 if not only because of the amazing intro.

I never played the third one...

Out of Onimusha 1 and 2, I'd go with Genma Onimusha on Xbox

Play them in order silly man That's always the best way to go. Also the older ones are cheaper, 2 is <$10 everywhere, where Dawn of Dreams is generally still >$20.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Well... Onimusha 2 is OK. Unless you're a fan of Gogandantes, I wouldn't recommend this one too much.

3 is pretty good. Jean Reno FTW! XD Plus, japanese-guy-whose-name-I-forgot -- yum! As in a crusher-esque yum, if you know what I mean...

Sadly, I haven't played Dawn of Dreams beyond a few minutes, so I can't say much about it... (Hey! I actually own the game!! :O! But I haven't touched it in over a year... )

Disclaimer: crusher does not think Samanosuke is "yum".
