Is this the NTSC-J Echelon release we're talking about?

Dead or Alive Limited Edition (J) (Echelon). It has a group intro, which makes it unplayable on Chankast, I think. Also, the intro movie doesn't play on it because Echelon fucked up the release.

If that's the release you've got, try downloading an NTSC-U one. (Utopia's release, isn't selfboot though.)

You can remove the echelon intro yourself too. The echelon selfboot guide is pretty much all over the net and it just happens to use DOA2 LE as an example. Follow its instructions and the game will run on Chankast, intro and all......at half the speed since it's not 100% fully emulated yet. Graphics and sound work perfectly though.

I didn't try it on NullDC to see how it runs there

That is the naff Echelon release I was talking about.

If you're not so fussed about the extra shit, get the old PAL or NTSC copy. Removing the Echelon intro's probably going to be harder and longer than it's worth.

    Use the boot disc.
    Or use the force.
    Whichever you prefer.

I see well I'm downloading it right now and well it will take a while..I reply once the download is finish..

The echelon selfboot is kind of risky because some say they got keylogers trojans ETC...stated in gamecopyworld..

    Sorry about the sarcastic reply.
    Use bin2boot.
Put the bin2boot.exe file into the same folder as the bin/cue. Type into the command line "doa2.bin" or w/e the name of the bin is.
    That'll make the image selfbootable

Removing the echelon intro didn't take long. 15 min of your time. Certainly a damn lot faster than waiting for the next rapidcrap time limit to pass to download the next file

    trojans & keyloggers?

if you're that worried, you can always scan whatever you download from there with whatever programs you use like antivirus/ad-aware/spybot/etc (you DO use those, right?). Either way, I never got virus and things like that from that place.

ok, I'll give you the files you're gonna need to remove the intro yourself
(you still have those rars you showed earlier, right? unrar it)

    Fastboot program: http://www.uploading.com/files/OKH7I...tBoot.rar.html
SKIP STEP 2 mentioned in the readme.txt
I'll give you the required 2 files of DOA2LE with the intro already removed.

    DOA2 LE files: http://www.uploading.com/files/9SDL8...files.rar.html

    1. Mount the CD image with daemon tools, or any other virtual drive you have, and copy the entire content of the CD to the DATA sub-folder inside de FASTBOOT folder, with the exception of the 1st_read.bin, and IP.BIN file. (In this case, delete them from the folder, you won't be needing them since I'm giving them to you already)

    2. Put the the 1st_read.bin, and IP.BIN files in the same directory as the binhack.exe (main directory).

    3. Double click on the BINHACK program, and when it prompts to input the binary file, type 1ST_READ.BIN
    for the bootsector IP.BIN
and the MSINFO VALUE is 0,0 (that is zero comma zero).

    4. Then after the Command Prompt window disappears, put the 1st_read and IP.BIN into de DATA subfolder.

    5. double click on b2b_game.bat , and wait till it finishes.

    6. You got yourself a new image. (image.cdi)

Mount it with your virtual drive. If it doesnt work, install daemon-tools 3.47 from here: http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/down...tegory&catid=5

Daemon3.47 is what you should use for Dreamcast games, later versions don't work well for it. I don't know how well Alcohol 120% virtual drive is for Dreamcast games, I never use it.

It's Daemon Tools 3.29, not 3.47 that works with ChanKast.

You should also be able to use Alcohol 120 or the free one, Alcohol 52%:

    Well, fuck me.

Because I just tried ChanKast with Daemon Tools 4.08 and it worked this time.

I don't know how to explain it.

Because it didn't work when I first tried it...maybe because I installed Alcohol 52% recently?

It's just if it starts to screw up it's down to Daemon Tools. Being too new, I think.
I've had mixed success with Daemon Tools 4 with Chankast.
