That's all it says on the cpu? It should have something else after that besides the serial.

    Maybe its Socket A?

Please post one since that will help us determine on which platform that processor belongs.

Either Panda or I, or some of the guys here can help you. And something worthy of mention: Don't buy Pcchips. Those are truly some of the worst pieces of shit I have ever worked with.

Consider buying a new mobo + processor...

well i wanted to use a mobo with that socket becasue i already have a CPU for the socket, an Athalon 2600 possibly 2600+ idk. but i bought this mobo from a used computer store and it came with 512MB DDR266 ram the CPU and the heatsink for it. the abnormal ACPI interface it had probably due to it being a PCChips mobo was what drove me to get a BIOS update but there was no v3.0c listed on PCChips website so i had no idea what one to download to start with. if i could even just recover the old BIOS then i would be alot better off. becasue i could load Win98 onto it at least (XP didnt like the abnormal ACPI) and Win98 as far as i know wasent very ACPI aware compared to modern mobos. if i could get win98 on it i could load up Everest of CPUZ so i could find out the excat info about it so i could aquire a BIOS update accordingly.
