Default Help with playing download game with psp

My psp version is currently 3.10OE-A' and i have downloaded games with the links given in the uploaded services forum. However after placing it into my memory stick, when i try to start the game, it will give me the screen saying "The game could not be started (80020148) ". Can anyone shed any light on this matter so i can play all the wonderful games that can be found here on my psp?

Are you getting the error with the NO UMD option enabled in the recovery mode? I don't know whatgame are you trying, but perhaps it's one of those games that needs a UMD on the PSP in order to run the backup.

Am pretty sure its one of those games that require you to have a UMD disc in your PSP. Even I used to get the same error and when I put the demo UMD that I got with the value pack, the games started working just fine

Wait...you bought, as in paid cash money for, an ISO of a PSP game? That sounds like a rip off to me.

Dude you do realize that you're getting ripped off since ISO's are suppose to be free and anyone that is selling them is just stealing your money to give you something you shouldn't have to pay for in the first place.

I would help you with this but unfortunately the PSP is the one of the few systems that I know almost nothing about aside from what I read here on the boards. I just saw you post that and had to say something.

hmm it could be that the ISO's he's trying to run are newer games and therefore need a more updated firmware. He's only got 3.10 OE.

Purchase the UMDs, if possible. You rid of all these problems.

The error indicates you have not included a UMD in your UMD drive.
    Place one in there.

If the game requires a higher firmware, it will indicate you need to upgrade your firmware prior to playing it.
