Default Weird question about transparent media to burn ps2 games

First I'd like to say I'm not asking for a list of better medias to burn, I have a strange question about the ones that are transparent and when you put then in front of the light you can see through it, this kind of DVD can damage the lens? like the beam when are reading the DVD go through it and make damage to the lens? some ppl in other forum told something like that and I'd like to confirm that here since I trust this forum, so if anyone knows about it please help me, thx in advance and sorry for anything stupid

well the lense focuses the laser form under the disk now on top of it, so the chances are that smei-transparent media may/maynot be able to be read by the laser due to the laser not being able to properly focus on the disk and be reflected back.

Ah, gotcha. Those symbols totally smacked of someone sporting man bits. As if I could tell.

Sara, change your user name to something intelligible would you?

would any kidn of semi-transparent media even be intentional or simply jsut be alow quality disks? i've seen alot of low quality disks that are semitransparent but they werent supposed to be that way, i would say that it probably could damage the drive simply becasue its low quality media, if there are intentionaly transparent disks i need somone to point me to a vendor where i could find such a thing

Btw you should stay way from any disc that gives trouble to your ps2 (heavy load times, strange noises...),never tried a "transparent" dvd or cd, but i should say that my first ps2 burned a "Princo" disk, and when i say burned i meant "melted".
So any low quality media could damage your console

Bruno, read this guide to find out how to determine what quality your DVD's are:
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

Also has links to freeware apps that will identify the media ID for your DVD's. (which will tell you who really manufactured them)

Thx a lot guys!!! This site looks really useful SegNin, I noticed in the past that some media have one brand but when you see the ID it looks really different, they say the companies hide the ID intentionally!!!!!! that's a really bad world we are living in hahahaha
