PSP lite coming. Are you gona buy?

You heard the news. New PSP redesign (code name 'PSP lite' or 'PSP 2 slim') will hit the stores approximately this Autumn with price of about $170.
Full list of coming features is still unknown, and ofcourse, its unknown if it will be able to launch homebrew software (h4x0rz ftw!!!).

But im definately gona buy it. Im sure it will be hacked, its only a matter of time.

A PSP Lite has not been announced yet. It is just rumors. However, if one is announced, it will be smaller, perhaps it might come with some GBs/MBs of flash memory (less need for MemorySticks), and, the directional pad might be improved. But yes, right now it is only rumors.

Yeah, they just updated the current PSP firmware to allow developers to run games at 333Mhz. Not that it means anything, but I just sorta doubt that they're really all gung-ho about releasing the PSP successor/re-design/whatever anytime soon, for one reason or another.

Several Sony execs have said that a PSP redesign is in works. Some of them have been debunked by other execs though... Still I think a "PSP lite" is in the works. We'll see next week at E3.

And yeah I'll probably buy it. As long as it's lighter and have a longer lasting battery I'm all for it.

Sony has registered a patent for it, so it's not unlikely that it'll make it to the stores some day

Yes, personally, I also believe they're making a "Lite" PSP. I have no problem with the size or weight of the current PSP, but the directional pad is so incredibly crap that playing certain fighting games is about impossible. I hope they'll fix the pad in an eventual PSP "Lite".
