Default Problems running Tales of Eternia (Tales of Destiny II).

First of all, I'd like to say that I've never emulated a Playstation game before, so I kinda don't know what I'm doing.

I'm running ePSXe and Windows XP, and using the ISO that I found here on Emuparadise.

    Here's what the problems are:

    1. The anime scenes (the intro and then the one that appears when you start a new game) are really messed up. There's no sound, they play at double screen, and a section of the right side of the video is on the left for some odd reason. There's also no sound at all.

    2. Whenever the character moves to a different area, or there's a camera pan or something, the game will freeze and the music will go into an odd loop while it loads. It happens at the title screen for a while too, but it fixes itself. But that's semi-bearable, I just thought I should mention it.

    3. Battles also move at double speed (possibly more), which is unbearable. There's also a very ugly-looking black square around Reid's axe.

    4. In fact, I'm pretty sure that everything runs sped up. That's the main problem, is the increased speed.

Anyone know what could be causing this? Help would be appreciated. . .

To fix the sound, dl Eternal SPU 1.41 plugin and make sure to check the first 3 options in the configuration screen (enable sound, cdda and xa sound)

    http://ngemu.com/psx/plugins.php?cat...win32&type=spu

To fix the game speed, go to epsxe/config, hit the configure button for the video plugin you are using and check use FPS limit and set the FPS limit to 60.

If you need more help you'll have to tell us what plugins are you using and how do you have them configured.

Wow, thanks! It runs great now.

My video plugin is Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.76. Is there a better one I could use to get rid of the black blocks around some of the graphics? I haven't messed with the configurations except for the frame rate.

Here's a screenshot of the configuration settings, if that would help any:

    What's your gfx card?
Since it's a 2D game you could try pete's soft plugin:

Everything works fine now, the anime scenes, the blocks are gone, everything.

    Thanks for your help!
