Default ISO Boot Problems in my PSP! and Other Questions

    I am using:
    PSP firmware 3.40 OE-A
SanDisk Ultra II Memory Stick Pro Duo

When I try to load an ISO, I get this message, "the game could not be started (80020321)" I tried other ISO, but it still gives me the same message!

If their is no solution for the above, then is their a homebrew program that boots PSP ISO?

How to boot PS1 in the PSP. I did place it in the correct directory (H:/PSP/GAME), but I did not see the PS1 game in my PSP.

    1. do u have a umd in the drive ? (the demo umd should be fine)
    2. eg you have Suikoden converted, then the eboot goes to \PSP\GAME\Suikoden\ ---> \PSP\GAME\Suikoden\EBOOT.PBP

I do not have a UMD, but is it requirement to boot all PSP ISO? If yes, any PSP UMD game?

What is a "Suikoden converted?" Is it a retail game or ISO?

Some ISOs can be booted without having a UMD -- any UMD. Lots can not. Suikoden converted likely refers to the PSX Suikoden that has been converted to work on PSP

you can try it without a UMD. Turn on your PSP and hold the R key. You are now in the recovery mode. go to Configuration ---> and then go to USE NO-UMD and enable it. Then go Back and exit.

I tried that method, but I did not see a recovery mode!

I don't quite understand this, "Suikoden converted likely refers to the PSX Suikoden that has been converted to work on PSP?" What do you mean?

    1. There is a recovery mode Try again (you know what the "R" key is,right ? )
    2. Suikoden is a PSX game and "converted" means eg Suikoden.iso ---> EBOOT.PBP

Is the "R Key" the "R Button" on the PSP? If it is the "R Button", how long does recovery boot appears?

Is the Suikoden PS1 game that is converted to eboot.pbp supposed to help me to boot PS1 games (xxx.pbp) or PSP game (iso/cso)?

I still have no idea how to play PS1 game (xxx.pbp) in the PSP. My PSP seems to reads the folders "music", "video", "iso", and "savedata" despite the system files! I pretty sure I place the PS1 game (xxx.pbp) in the right directory (H:/PSP/GAME)!

Place it in H/PSP/GAME/SUIKODEN (not H/PSP/GAME)

Hold the R button WHILE TURNING ON THE PSP to access the recovery console. It's a pretty simple looking interface with a single-colored background.

yes it is the right shoulder button.

No, it was just a example for a PSX game and where you have to place it on your PSP.

    H:/PSP/GAME/"anyFolderName"/xxx.pbp

I still cannot go to recovery mode in my PSP! Is there something I need (e.g. recovery file boot) to put in my memory stick in order to boot in recovery mode?

No, please try again one more time.
    1. PRESS and HOLD the R - Button AND then
    2. turn on the PSP

if there is really no recovery menu, i have some questions
q1. have you any plugin enabled ?
q2. have you something flashed recently ?
q3. have you a custom icons, menu etc ?

i have read that some people have problems with 3.40 OE firmware.

i have no idea, maybe the PSP was halfbricked...
can you run homebrews on the PSP like gpsp, dgen, nesterj etc ?
i would flash the firmware again. but before you do anything wrong, explain your problem here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/index.php They can help you more i think

Thanks for your help! I think I will stick will the UMD game instead of using the recovery boot because I was able to boot all of my PSP ISOs easily.

As for the homebrew question... I haven't tried it, but thanks for asking.
