Is it an original game or a backup? Do you play backups in your PS2?

The way to play imports is the same way to play backups, being the most common methods the mod chip or the Swap Magic boot discs (in which case you'll need to modify your console in order to swap the discs, call it slide card, fliptop cover or Magic Keys deppending on your PS2 model).

so I was actually gonna make a thread on this as well. lol. anway I was wondering (since I have a NTSC-U/C PS2) if I use SM to change the "Colour" of the system as SM calls it, will it F up my PS2's region or my TV? I was leary so I only stick with dl'ing NTSC-U/C games.

Well i dont know if in NTSC territories the RBG cable is at stores, but you can always usa PAL2NTSC tool for converting your games to NTSC signal, it is just a little hex adjust in the main exe code

so is there a prgoram that will do this without the need for special tv cables and without the need to have SM change the "colour"? also will this program work on all PAL games.

I need a program to do this b/c I don't know coding for the hex or much coding at all.

He's saying that all the program does is change a little hex code so you don't have to do it yourself.

OOOOOH. so changing the "Colour" with SM will only do it for the game I booted and will not permanently stay that way? (If i re-intepreted the post correctly). So my NTSC-U/C PS2 won't be damaged at all?

It's just a way to boot it, it won't affect your disc.

I'm worried about my PS2 more.. i mean the output and the internal chips etc... after changing the signal on it using Swap Magic to boot a PAL game... (Yeah I'm a paranoid individual)

No, you don´t have any problem converting PS2 PAL games to NTSC. Search in Google Jayteemaster PAL to NTSC w/Y FIX tool. I did that many times, but some games can´t let you do that (IE Medal of Honor Airborne, etc). I also found a special DVD, with that ISO you can play any region game! (GameShark also does this). I take it from here about 2 months ago...

    Cheers!

The problem is that the OP will need first a way to boot those converted games in his not modded console..
