Default Mame is being a doodoo head.

I'm using Mame32 0.114, and I have this 15 gig rom set for it, which is sweet. What isn't sweet, is that every game I play has extemely choppy audio. This never happened before. What can I do?

Why use such an old version?

    EDIT: It's MAME 0.114, not Mame32. Nevermind.

I didn't know it was such an old version. It was just one that worked for me. So I kept it around.

No no, it's the latest as far as I recall, and there is a mame32 0.114 (which has a frontend).

Do you have some other emu or apps on in the background, like foobar and such?

I did have a torrent going, which I quickly shut off. But the annoying choppy music is still there.

From what I can tell, yeah, they are. No slow down or choppy movements from the games. Only the audio.

I think pressing F11 shows the FPS. Or you can check in the options for the right key. But, if you can't see some choppiness, then that's likely not the issue...

Nope, there's no choppiness in the video. I just tried MamePlus, and I get the same results. :\

Is regular audio sounding choppy as well? (i.e. music files, pc games, other emulators) If so, you may need to reinstall your sound drivers.

Nope. This issue is only with Mame. Although maybe I just need to reboot this PC. Sounds wierd, but I had a sound issue before, where any and every sound was disabled from my PC, as if there were never a sound card installed. Dunno why, but when I rebooted the PC, everything was back to normal.

What about downloading a rom from a different site (single rom) and testing it, to see if maybe it's the romset you downloaded?

    Did you yell at it?

Or see if you can change anything about the sound settings.
