Default Is upgrading to custom firmware dangerous? and other questions

I know I asked the same question before, but I am wondering if upgrading to a custom firmware is dangerous?

Is there a way to play PS1 games on a PSP? If yes, what is the best and easiest emulator?

What are the best and easiest emulator for playing PSP ISOs?

Sorry I did not have time to look around throughly in the forums, if this question is answered already.

There's only one way to play PSX games on a PSP you know. It's not with an emulator. It's through eBoots in Dark Alex's custom firmware. & Of course there are risks up/downgrading firmware.

I thought there was an EMU for 1.5 psp's called "Yoshi's"
    or summin liike that.

    I went from a 2.71 to a 1.5 than a 3.10 OE-A.

Took about an hour and was simple as hell.

It all depends on your firmware and mobo,
on terms of how easy it is.

Yeah. But they can't even be compared with Sony's own stuff. Thinking compatibility, that is.

I thought it was a proper Sony thing, that they did. That allowed PSX games to be 'downloaded' LOL through the PS3; which was then exploited allowing you to play almost any game converting it via popstation...
Well I don't even have a PSP so wtf do I know, eh?

Maybe you shouldnt offer advice on it than.

And yeah the popstation is the best way to play psx on psp.

Customm firmware is well worth it.

If the custom firmware has a built-in PS1 emulator, then what format does the PS1 has to be? Can it accept, iso? Is there patching involved? Also, I forgot menton if their is a built-in emulator for PSP in the custom firmware? If not, where can I find a PSP ISO loader?

the custom Firmware have a PSX Emu (Sonys own). You make a backup with eg Alkohol 120 % and then use a Popstation Gui (Windows program) and convert + compress the image to a eboot file. This eboot will be placed on the mem card of the PSP in the folder PSP/GAME/"Nameofthegame"/
PSP games in iso/cso format goes to /ISO folder on the mem card.
the PSX games and PSP games will appear in the XMB Menu Games
btw some PSX games must be patched (the same patches which you use for PSX Backups on the real PSX)
I use Simple Popstation Gui by ZiNgABuRgA (the developer)

For PS1 games that needs patching, is it within the Popstation program or something else? Is there a converter or similar for ePSXe save file to PS1 (after using Popstation) save file?

patching is before using a Popstation Gui and after making the image of the game as bin/cue. The other question i'cant answer, because i do not use a psx emu on my pc.
