Default FF8 screen tearing in epsxe 152

my comp is nice, everything runs smooth, except this screen tear in ff8 happens, usually starts from the middle of the screen then heads down, and randomly occurs through out my playing experience..

isn't really that noticable, but still bothers me a bit..

i tried different configs, put the graphics down, beefed them up, nothing seems to work.. perhaps it has something to do with the fps?

everything runs smooth again, its just this minor tear i don't get why is even there.. thanks

    petes open gl 176..

    1024x768 32 bit

screen smoothing on, texture quality: the highest one: slightly faster with some cards

    use fps limit on

    auto detect fps on

    extended smooth sprites

    keep psx aspect ratio off

    card vram autodetect

    hi-res textures: none

use frame skipping off, fps limit 200 (but unchecked)

off screen drawing : 3 - enhanced, show more stuff

frambuffer: 3 gfx card and buffer and software - slow

frame buffer access: FVP, highest one

    alpha multi pass on

    mask bit off

    and advanced blending on

everything in misc. is unchecked except for screen smoothing

as you can see, everythings set pretty high, but my computer can handle it, no problems with in game battles, and during pre-rendered background game play, (except a little jagged with edges on some buildings)

so my only real problem is this minor screen tearing which just bothers the crap out of me for some reason..

my graphics card is a geforce 6800 gt.. kinda old, but really does the job

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks..

and one more thing, is it possible to transfer the mem card saves from the epsxe to a diff. emulator? just a side question, thanks again

You could check the special game fixes, they may help. Or maybe you'd want to use Pete's D3D driver 1.74.

You can use PSXMemtool to transfer saves from a memory card of one of the supported emulators to the other.

If you're using an actual CD then it's your CD drive having problems reading the CD. This is normal even on a perfect disc. Some drives just have problems with PlayStation CDs. Image the disc and run it from that and it should work.
