I honestly have no clue where this thread should go so I'll put it here since it is a problem reffering to the PS2.
I know its bad to actually stick a label on your PS2 backups b/c that will wear down your laser, but then I thought to myself ok I'll just rip off a piece of paper and write the game name on it and slip it in the case... well fat chance that gonna keep working b/c the cases are piling up so fast that I had to start putting them in a cd folder.
So I was wodnering if it's a wise idea to write on the actual CD/DVD with an ultra fine point sharpie or a sharpie in general? The reason I ask this question is b/c the actual process looks gruesome and idk if it would be a big disturbance to the actual PS2 laser or not... (Not to mention the actual game disc) Sony and TDK discs are coated on the top pretty thinkly so I don't think those brands of DVD's will be a problem with the laser, but for all CD's and Memorex DVD's they are coated with that shitty silver film and when you hold them up to the light you can see the sharpie writing through it. So I was wondering if I should sharpie label them anyway?...
b/c my only concern is ruining the disc with a sharpie or having the PS2 laser go fucked up b/c its also reading the sharpie marks on the other side. (Note: I do play with the lid up on my PS2 so that's how I know the laser shoots through a Memorex DVD and CD's)
