This sounds like a job for pSX The Emulator. It has already been proven to work on Windows Vista. Oh and the color setting on ePSXe only effects Full Screen.

Ok I ready a little more above. That virus you found may have something to do with this. ePSXe stores all it's configureation settings in Windows Registery so the only way to reset ePSXe is to delete the Registery entry that belongs to it. The Registery entry for ePSXe can be found at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\epsxe". Delete that key and ePSXe will return to a pre-first run state.

    [EDIT]
    What is Persona?

I tried on two diffrent versions too. 1.5.2 and 1.6.0.
They both use the same config file, wherever it may be.
Have you tried deleting both folders (keep the savestates and memcards), and reinstalling them? I can find which registry key is for ePSXe, but I don't like playing around with what I don't know anything about.

EDIT: Well, Haldrie seems to be covering this one. Except for the color only affecting fullscreen. That's incorrect if it pertains to what I was talking about earlier.

*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

I'll go on a stretch and assume you did something wrong when fucking with regedit. What did you do?

Looks like that virus you got really f'd up your computer big time. I've never seen an error when opening regedit. I hate to say it but you may have to reformat your comptuer to get it working again.

Have you tried just doing a system restore to the day before this happened?
